Robert Hartwig is the Assistant General Manager and Chief Financial Officer (AGM/CFO) for the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) serving 150,000 residents and businesses over 100 square miles in the Lake Elsinore, CA area. He started with the District in 2015, and served as the Interim General Manager for five months in 2019. EVMWD provides a full range of water, reclaimed water, and recycled water services. This includes maintaining two dams, three lakes, dozens of reservoirs and wells, two water plants, three sewer plants, hundreds of miles of pipes, lift stations, pump stations, etc. EVMWD is currently in the middle of a $185 million wastewater treatment plant renovation and expansion project, the centerpiece of a larger capital improvement program. As AGM he leads the Customer Service, Community Affairs, Financial Accounting, Information Technologies/SCADA, and Purchasing departments, encompassing 45 of the District’s 165 employees. In addition to CPA firm and self-employment experience, Mr. Hartwig has served in various municipal capacities for over 25 years including cities, airports, and special districts. Bob is a licensed CPA in California and Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting, Finance, and International Business from Regis University, Denver, Colorado. Rumors that he is a huge Hawkeye fan are woefully understated.
