Kathryn Mortensen

Kathryn currently serves as the City of Brighton's Budget & Performance Manager. Previous to this position, she worked as a Budget Analyst, first for the City of Brighton and then for the City and County of Denver. Over her career she has worked on the budget process and performance management, as well many special projects including sustainability policy, employee engagement and appreciation, and social equity work. She has a passion for spreadsheets, continuous improvement, and inclusion.

She graduated with a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Colorado-Denver and has a Bachelor's in Political Science. She is also a 2020 ELGL Traeger Award winner, an ELGL Knope of the Month, and has received a black belt from both the Denver Peak Academy and the Brighton Performance and Leadership Academy. In her free time, Kathryn likes to paint, go to concerts, and spend time outdoors.
