This hands-on leader will have a high level of technical competence, experience preparing an annual budget, and a solid foundation in accounting and financial management. The Finance Manager/City Treasurer will be a strong partner in the organization and will implement innovations to improve efficiencies and effectiveness and will contribute to the group effort for the overall benefit of the City and its residents. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with an understanding of the policy direction provided by leadership and can create and implement successful business strategies. Benefits • 4-10 Work Schedule (Monday-Thursday). • Insurance: The City offers group health, dental/vision, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and a $50,000 life insurance policy for full-time employees. The City contributes to the employee's health and dental/vision insurance. Disability and life insurance are paid by the City. • CalPERS Retirement: 2% @ 62 for PEPRA members, 2% @ 60 for Classic members. • Deferred Compensation Plan: Employee contribution. • Leave: Palmdale has a generous leave policy which includes 14 paid holidays, 80 hours of vacation (years one through four), and 96 hours of sick leave per year. Administrative employees earn 80 hours of administrative leave per year.
