City of Columbia, MO seeks a Department Director to lead our Finance Department. Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Public Finance or similar field required; Master’s degree and/or CPA is highly preferred. Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in public finance or municipal accounting work. An equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential job functions is acceptable. The position will serve as the City of Columbia’s chief financial officer and financial policy advisor to the City Manager as defined by the City Charter. This position will direct the Finance Department by overseeing the City’s financial planning, budgeting, purchasing, accounting, pensions, and other financial administrative functions.
