Clackamas County’s Budget Office is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who has strong communication skills and excels at multitasking to join our team as a Senior Budget Analyst. The successful candidate for this position will perform advanced professional budget and debt analysis in support of the County and provide expertise as a subject matter expert on forecasting and budgeting capital projects.
The Senior Budget Analyst will analyze complex fiscal, budget, and debt data and formulate recommendations to provide management with information for effective decision making and planning. Positions in this classification typically involve difficult and complex county-wide responsibilities such as producing the County’s long-term forecast. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced professional who values diversity and has a strong work ethic. The successful candidate must be able to handle a fast paced work environment, the ability to work independently, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and resiliency.
The Budget Office is responsible for coordinating the budget and planning process throughout the year. The cycle begins with analysis of departmental funding requests, continues through Budget Committee review and approval, and Board of County Commissioners adoption of the budget for the new fiscal year. The process continues as the year unfolds with revenue and expenditure monitoring and budget changes as approved by the Board. The Budget Office also produces the county cost allocation, indirect cost plans and forecast. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has given its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to Clackamas County for each fiscal year since that beginning July 1, 1993.
