The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Accountant. The purpose of this position is to perform duties related to the application of Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Standards as developed by GFOA and the application of GAAP as it relates to governmental entities. This professional position will report directly to the Assistant Finance Director in the Financial Services Department. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the full range of finance and accounting related services.
The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Assistant Finance Director and the Chief Financial Officer with the year-end closing process, the preparation of the District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the annual Budgets, and completing the installations of a fully electronic accounting system and budgeting software.
Other principal duties include: working with other accountants regarding fixed assets, the preparation of payroll, accounts payable/receivable, debt administration, and cash flow management; preparing the general ledger and financial statements for the annual financial audits; and preparing accurate regulatory reports, monthly financial statements, cash flow and performance reports.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field. An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License preferred.
