Dauphin County Controller's Office is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Accounting Manager. Responsibilities of this position include managing staff accountants, reviewing journal entries and financial transactions, recommending and implementing accounting procedures, coordinating with the County's independent auditor for completion of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), and preparing all year-end close-out activities, both fiscal and calendar.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting, business administration or a related field with accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant; accreditation as a Certified Internal Auditor and/or a Certified Fraud Examiner preferred; five or more years of experience in governmental accounting; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position. Must have a working knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access in addition to other software as needed. A favorable criminal background check is required.
