City of Blaine (pop. 65,000) seeks a full-time Assistant to the Finance Director to provide administrative support through the preparation, recording, and reporting of financial information, particularly in the city’s centralized Treasury and Cash Management functions. This position will monitor the city’s cash flow and investment portfolio, reconcile bank accounts and prepare department City Council agenda items.
Minimum Requirements include:
Two years of post-secondary education in finance, accounting, booking or related (related GFOA training may be substituted) AND two years of experience in comparable accounting, finance or bookkeeping position OR four years of experience in accounting, finance or booking; one year banking, treasury and/or cash management experience; one year Microsoft Office experience; and, one year experience with financial software applications.
Desired qualifications include:
Municipal/governmental finance/accounting experience, Powerpoint experience, agenda software (preferably Legistar) experience, applicable GFOA training and/or certifications and one year work experience working with cash-flow models.
