Metropolitan Transportation Commission is currently recruiting for a Section Director to serve as part of the senior leadership of this robust regional organization. The Section Director, Funding Policy & Programs is responsible for leading and mentoring staff by providing performance oversight and clarifying performance expectations. Importantly, Section Directors work collaboratively in a team environment with other MTC directors and staff including engaging in MTC’s long- and short-term goals and objectives. Under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Executive Director, the Section Director oversees policy development and investment decision-making including $1.5 billion annually in federal, state, and regional transportation funds as well as an overall section staff of 23 plus outside consultants and contractors (as needed). Completion of a Master’s degree in Public Policy or a related discipline is desired. A Bachelor’s degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. AICP certification preferred. Requires 6 years of increasingly responsible experience effectively leading a division or department of which 4 years of experience is at the senior management level in regional or local transportation planning, public policy, or a similar position.
