Ember Strange, Chief Financial Officer, City of North Little Rock, Arkansas
Ember Strange has been a GFOA member for sixteen years. Ember serves as the current president of GFOA’s Women’s Public Finance Network and is vice-chair of the Committee on Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting. In her jurisdiction, Strange helped lead emergency recovery efforts following a devastating tornado in 2023, managing FEMA relations and securing funding for reconstruction. She was a finalist for "CFO of the Year" by Arkansas Business and is a past recipient of “Officer of the Year” by the Arkansas GFOA. She is a current member and past president of the Arkansas GFOA and served on the Arkansas Municipal League’s Pension Management Trust Board. Committed to fostering the next generation of public finance professionals, Strange's goals for GFOA center around attracting and retaining emerging talent through collaborative initiatives.
