GFOA Scholarship Spotlight: Elizabeth Whitt

Elizabeth Whitt has worked with Northwest Local School District as an accounting supervisor since 2014. She is pursuing a BBA degree at Liberty University. She plans to graduate by December 2021.

Q & A with Elizabeth

Where and what are you currently studying and why did you choose this?

I'm pursuing my Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus on  finance and management with Liberty University

What government are you working or hoping to work at in the future?

I am currently working for Northwest Local School District in Southwest Ohio and plan to continue working in the school finance field.

What are your future career goals?

Once I obtain my degree, I will be pursuing my school treasurer's license. I'm looking forward to a position as assistant treasurer and possibly treasurer some day.

Which GFOA scholarship did you receive and how will GFOA’s scholarship help you achieve those goals?

I received the Jeffrey L. Esser Career Development Scholarship. This scholarship will take me through the completion of my degree, which has been the only thing holding me back in my career advancement.
