Job Description

The Town of Winter Park is recruiting an accounting manager to direct and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and a team player with a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices. The accounting manager is responsible for the Town’s core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, and sales tax revenues. The Accounting manager will also prepare and review bank, investment, general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries. Reporting to the Town’s Finance Director, the accounting manager will lead and direct the activities of the accounting department team members but does not have any direct personnel administration or supervisory responsibility.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other business degree with a minor in accounting is required along with at least 5 years of progressive professional accounting experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM), or Certified Public Financial Officer (CPFO), and commensurate experience at a governmental organization is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $83,994 - $121,791 dependent on qualifications. A listing of benefits can be found at wpgov.com/jobs. This position can be either in-office, hybrid, or full-time remote. The Town may provide housing assistance, assistance locating available housing, or placement in an available housing unit to the selected candidate to enable a move into our community. Full-time remote work will require regular visits to the Town’s administrative offices located in Winter Park, Colorado.
