The City of Lenexa is governed by a Mayor elected at large and eight City Council Members elected from four wards (two per ward). The Council appoints a professional City Manager who implements the council's vision and policies and oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization.
The Assistant Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Financial Officer and manages a five-member team responsible for the City's financial operations, including budget preparation and administration, payroll, purchasing, fixed assets, debt issuance, capital improvement projects, fee schedules, audits, reporting, and investments.
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field. Three years of increasingly responsible accounting experience including general accounting and governmental accounting. One year of supervisory experience.
- Desired: Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field. Five years of increasingly responsible accounting experience including general accounting and governmental accounting. Three years of supervisory experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this position is $88,800 to $108,600. Relocation expenses up to a maximum of $2,500 are provided if relocating from outside the KC metro area.
