Job Description

The Municipality of Norristown, seat of Montgomery County, PA, adjacent to Philadelphia, socially and economically diverse, annual operating budget approximately $50 million; winner of two prestigious national Government Finance Officers Association awards: the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award and the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, seeks an Assistant Director of Finance.

  • Salary : $70,000 – 90,000 DOQE
  • FSLA: Exempt

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Accounting or closely related field and at least five years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess supervisory skills. CPA, relevant master’s degree, CGFM, local government experience or working in accounting firm dealing with government audits will be a plus.

Summary:

Highly skilled hands-on, technical/accounting executive. Work involves all aspects of municipal finance management including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, capital improvements planning, debt management, cash management, staff supervision. Must possess a positive, public/customer service attitude. Work performed under the leadership of the director of finance.
