Tri-County Health Department – Full time

What you will do:

Performs complex technical, supervisory, and administrative work in the maintenance of accounting procedures and fiscal records controls. Manages the general accounting and maintenance of financial records functions for Tri-County Health Department. Manages the operations and personnel of the general and cost accounting, budgeting, payroll, and fiscal records functions. Maintains accounting procedures and records controls. Prepares financial reports monthly and as needed and maintains the company chart of accounts. Evaluates and maintains regulatory standards. Assists external auditors in conducting the annual audit including preparing schedules, posting adjustments, and implementing recommendations. Conducts internal audits. Reports to Director, Administration, and Finance.

Requirements you will need:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration or a related field. At least six years progressive experience performing advanced accounting experience preferably in government fund accounting and cost accounting including two to three years supervisory experience.

Special Qualifications:

Principals, practices, methods, and procedures of accounting, specifically government fund accounting and cost accounting. Computerized accounting systems including Medicaid and private insurance.

Experience implementing a new financial system (Tyler Technologies Munis) with an eye on process improvement is a plus
Must have proven leadership and supervisory skills.

Salary Range:

Salary is based on skills, education, experience, and internal equity. $84,000-$100,000 annual
