The California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) is seeking an Executive Director. CSMFO is a professional association of state, county, and local government finance officers in California. CSMFO daily functions are supported by a contract with an association management company that provides membership, fiscal, technology, special events planning, and other administrative support.
This newly constituted position has an expanded scope of responsibility and is designed to be a conduit between the strategic partners and membership, working to build relationships and increase value for government, student, and commercial members. The Executive Director’s knowledge of municipal government is essential to work collaboratively with a variety of strategic partnerships in governmental and nongovernmental agencies. The Executive Director will work with these partners to ensure CSMFO has a seat at the table and a voice in conversations involving target objectives of CSMFO and its membership. This person will need to have the ability to manage competing priorities, like professional conferences or trainings, and balancing the needs of the many volunteer committees that operate CSMFO. Familiarity with local government finance is a major advantage, and connections with influential players at the state level will be advantageous to the Executive Director’s work.
