Finance Director
POSITION:
Under the general direction of the City Manager, the Finance Director will plan, direct and manage the activities and operations of the Finance Department including general accounting functions, budget preparation and compliance, financial reporting, banking and investment services, risk management, auditing, utility billing, and debt management.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The selected candidate should have sound knowledge and judgment related to the principles of government finance and be a creative and independent thinker and problem solver. The Finance Director will possess a can-do, positive attitude and will focus on customer service thereby maintaining a culture of partnering at all levels within the organization. Proven leadership skills with six years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experience including three years of management and administrative responsibility is required. Also required is a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field. A Master’s degree and/or CPA is desirable.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residence or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment.
