This critical member of the Finance Department will be a "hands-on" Director, who oversees the City fund accounting, financial reporting, purchasing, accounts receivable, asset inventory and payroll system, and represents financial services of City administration to key stakeholders. This individual works directly with independent auditors on annual audit compliance at the state and federal levels. Will direct Finance staff in coordination, development, analysis, and implementation of the City budget, as well as assist department heads in financial matters pertaining to department operations. Provides monthly and annual financial reports to the City Council through the City Manager.
Minimum Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; experience with a California municipality and Certification as a Public Accountant or a Certified Public Finance Officer and at least three years of Supervisory experience is desirable; five years of increasingly responsible financial experience in accounting and financial work, including at least two years in a public agency; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
