Job Description

THE POSITION:

The City of Rohnert Park is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its Finance team. Incumbents in this position have thorough knowledge of municipal accounting, auditing work, and budgetary policies and procedures. The successful candidate will use independent judgment to formulate, modify, and perform a full range of accounting activities, leading a highly talented staff of accounting and financial operations professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Sufficient education, training, and experience to help manage a city's finances, the collection, accounting, and reporting of City funds, and the work of a city Finance Department. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications is to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree is desirable
  • Four years of professional, comprehensive, and increasingly responsible work experience in governmental accounting, auditing, and financial management, including one to two years in a managerial capacity
