About the Position:

The Finance Department of the City of Grand Junction is seeking a Revenue Supervisor to manage and coordinate activities related to the City’s revenue functions. The ideal candidate will possess a solid leadership background with extensive experience in planning and conducting audits and revenue reporting.

Duties:

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of assigned staff.
  • Develop, administer and monitor the components of the sales tax software system including structure, internal controls, security, reporting and integration with other software systems.
  • Develop, administer and monitor all aspects of the sales and use tax program.
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports on current and future revenue projections.
  • Research and compile trends in retail activity and sales tax, lodging tax and cannabis tax collections.
  • Develop and oversee City's Audit Program.
  • Perform a variety of analytical duties in support of professional accounting functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience including experience in auditing, revenue management and compliance including one (1) year of supervisory experience; government accounting experience desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a CPA certificate.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
