Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the general ledger. This position is also the lead for accounts payable and accounting specialist. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Grant Reporting: Prepares required state and federal grant reports.
• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform balance sheet reconciliations during month end close process.
• Audit Preparation: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a governmental or public sector role.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting standards (GASB).
