Senior Budget & Engagement Analyst

If that sounds like you, the City of Raleigh is looking for a Budget and Engagement Analyst in its high-performing, fun, and energetic Budget and Management Services Department. This position reports directly to the Assistant Budget Director, and we want you to join our team!
This is a professional position working independently to develop and manage the annual operating and multi-year capital plan, support the City's strategic and business planning efforts, manage special projects, and contribute to policy discussions. Department staff have a rich variety of assignments and work closely with the City Manager, and Assistant City Managers, to set budget priorities, respond to City Council questions, and facilitate consensus-building among stakeholders. The analyst will work directly on major projects, such new business planning processes, departmental reorganizations, and engagement efforts. Analysts manage a portfolio of assignments, including operating departments and capital programs, enterprise and internal service funds, and special project management. Analysts also work directly with City departments to prioritize needs, resolve challenges, and plan service improvements.
The Budget and Engagement Analyst will gather qualitative and quantitative input to inform budget decisions and assess the impact of different investments on improving equity. This will include working with the Department of Equity and Inclusion and the City's Budget Equity Review Committee. The Budget and Engagement Analyst will also seek to expand community engagement around the budget process. The position will develop and implement strategies to expand the involvement of stakeholders in the budget process to align the City's allocation of resources with community priorities to ensure that investments in government services and infrastructure reduce disparities in Raleigh.
