Job Description

The City of Gresham is actively seeking qualified candidates for Senior Financial Analyst. If:

This may be the position for you. The Senior Financial Analyst works as part of the Budget and Financial Planning team, responsible for a wide range of financial duties across a variety of assigned fund(s), program(s), or citywide initiatives and including multi-year financial forecasts, revenue forecasting, cost of services studies, and other ad-hoc requests. Additionally, the City is currently completing its transition to a new Enterprise Resource Planning System with Tyler Technologies’ Munis and Energov software. This position will have the opportunity to assist in adapting the financial forecasting processes and various financial and budgetary reporting to the new system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Public or Business Administration or related field
  • Three-five or more years of related experience.
  • Additional education or experience may be substituted for a total required combined minimum of 7-10 years of qualifying education, training, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating, modifying, and updating financial analysis and forecasting for municipal infrastructure programs
  • Experience with municipal budget and accounting, including Oregon local budget law.
  • Strong familiarity with utility rate setting, infrastructure financing, the Oregon property tax system and/or Urban Renewal
  • Robust skills in SSRS report development
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to be detail-oriented while keeping the big picture in mind
  • Effective oral and written communication skill
