U.S. DOT Announces Transportation Grants for Rural and Tribal Communities

Last week, the U.S Department of Transportation (DOT) released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a new pilot program for technical assistance. The Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program offers technical assistance grants that can be used to hire staff or advisors to assist with early development-phase activities including, but not limited to, feasibility studies; preliminary engineering and design; and financial feasibility analysis. Funding is available to rural and tribal communities on a first-come, first-served basis and there is no local funding match required to participate in the program. Applications can be submitted starting 2:00 PM ET on Monday, August 14, 2023. Click HERE for the NOFO and HERE for more information on the Pilot Program.
