Urban Forum - Networking Event - February 25, 2022

Housing affordability is a growing concern in most urban areas. Addressing this complex problem requires coordination and collaboration among different sectors and levels of government. Join us on February 25 to hear from Stacie Young, President and CEO of Community Investment Corporation (CIC), a non-profit CDFI lender which provides financing for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation of affordable rental housing in Chicago area neighborhoods. Stacie will talk about the challenges of preserving existing affordable housing, particularly naturally occurring (i.e. non-subsidized) affordable housing, and why it’s so important for government, non-profit organizations, landlords, and other stakeholders to work together to expand affordable housing opportunities.  Stacie will also share her recent experience working to pass legislation in Illinois to provide multifamily property owners a property tax incentive.

The program will also include time for Stacie to address questions from the attendees.
